How much growing room should I allow?

As a general guide, we recommend allowing approximately 8–12mm of extra space beyond your child's longest toe and 2-4mm of extra space in width.

This provides room for natural movement and growth while maintaining a secure fit.

How often should I measure my child's feet?

Growth rate changes with age, so the frequency of checks should also vary:

Toddlers and children up to 3 years old: Measure every 1–2 months. At this age, feet grow in spurts and at the fastest rate, averaging 15–18 mm per year.

Preschoolers (3–6 years old): Check foot size every 2–3 months. Growth slows slightly to about 1 mm per month.

Younger school-age children (6–10 years old): Measuring every 3–4 months is sufficient. Foot growth becomes more stable, at approximately 8–12 mm per year.

Older school-age children: Check approximately once every six months.
